Wellness Coach & Certified Yoga Teacher

Monique Hall is an enthusiast of life and life supporting efforts. She enjoys reading and listening to podcast that address her community. She is an advocate for marginalized groups, particularly the African American community as it pertains to health care: spiritual, mental, physical, social and political.  Monique has been in the field of behavioral health for many years.  

In 2014, she developed and facilitates an African American women’s discussion group called Sister Speak to provide a space to address issues pertinent to our community. 

 

Also in 2014, Monique joined a missionary group, which focused on those orphaned by the AIDS epidemic in Zimbabwe.  

Monique has recently started a podcast called Sankofa2020 for what she says is for “all things Afrocentric, putting African Americans at the center of the conversation”.  She interviews African American community leaders who are making a difference in the community. She is also working on a book for African American children about Mindfulness, to give schoolkids a tool to combat stress from the inside out. 

Monique is involved in many community projects, the most recent is an adjunct to a young African American women project whose goal is to build self-esteem and confidence and to develop skills necessary for the leadership of tomorrow. She is also on the board of ExpresArte Cultural Wellness Collective, a cross-cultural collective organization created to hold healing space for multigenerational residents in the Central Valley. 

Monique enjoys facilitating trauma-informed psycho-educational groups such as domestic violence, anger management, substance use disorders and mental wellness.  She enjoys learning and teaching the practice of mindfulness and understands the importance of somatic healing.  

Monique received her Bachelors in Social Science from Brandman University in 2013. Recently Monique graduated from the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training from The Tree South LA and has begun teaching at Onyx Trauma Wellness Center in Hanford, CA.
